Oakham skiers enjoy perfect conditions

A group of Lower and Middle School pupils spent a week of their Easter holidays enjoying the snowy slopes of Madonna di Campiglio in Italy. It was the first ski trip organised by the school since the beginning of the pandemic.

After a long journey, the skiers and boarders received a warm welcome from the hotel, and everyone was fitted with skis and boots. During the week, the skiing conditions were perfect, with freshly fallen snow covering the slopes and lots of sunshine and blue skies. The groups explored the resort with their instructors, and all abilities progressed excellently. Pupils also took part in other activities such as the Trentino Wild high ropes and slalom racing.  In the evenings, the pupils enjoyed quizzes and competitive games nights.

Trip organiser Mrs Dook said, “It has been a fantastic week, made even better by the excellent behaviour of the pupils. It has been great to see them improve and achieve individual successes. Many thanks to Mrs Madden, Mrs Cannie, Mr Dacthler, Mr Arnold and Mr Gorman for their hard work and support in helping to make the week such a wonderful, happy experience for everyone.”
