We were delighted to learn that Form 4 music scholar, Eddie, achieved an outstanding distinction mark in his ABRSM Grade 6 online performance grade exam back in March 2021, scoring no fewer than 147 marks out of a total possible mark of 150. He has now won international recognition for his piano playing in being selected for the ABRSM’s Global High Scorers’ Concert on Friday 25 June.
Head of Piano, Anne Bolt, who also teaches Eddie, was quick to praise this “absolutely amazing news which is thoroughly deserved. Eddie’s exam recording and recording were a truly remarkable achievement, and it is no surprise that the ABRSM has recognised this too.” This is the first time in recent years that a Oakham School pupil has been selected to play in a High Scorers Concert, and Eddie is to be congratulated on this outcome, which recognises his extremely hard work and practice.
Eddie can be heard representing Oakham School, alongside young musicians from 21 countries around the world, in this prestigious online concert on Friday 25 June by tuning into the ABRSM Youtube channel. A full programme for the concert can be viewed online here. Congratulations from us all at Oakham School!
