Rachael Pearson has recently been appointed as Head of Careers and Progression at Oakham School. Her role will see her delivering an in-house Careers Programme with her team and providing helpful careers advice to pupils throughout their time at Oakham.
Rachael joined Oakham from Loughborough Grammar School, where she was the UCAS Co-ordinator. Before training as a Careers Advisor in 2018, Rachel taught English at Nottingham High School for 14 years, during which time she completed her PhD. She also introduced and coordinated the Extended Project Qualification, for which she still acts as External Moderator.
Rachael said, “I’m lucky to be working with such an experienced and knowledgeable team in the Careers Departments and am looking forward to working with Oakham students as they make transitions between stages of their education here and as they move on to pathways beyond Oakham.”
Oakham has previously been awarded the prestigious Career Mark award in recognition of its consistently high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance, and the pupils are fortunate to have access to a careers centre as developed as Oakham.
