MUN Workshop with the Chair of the UK Foreign Affairs Committee

The Chair of the UK Foreign Affairs Committee (Alicia Kearns MP) led a workshop with MUN and Politics students, giving them the opportunity to ask a range of questions on current affairs issues. The MP for Rutland and Melton shared her diplomatic wisdom and was impressed by the insightful and challenging questions students asked across a wide range of issues –  the state of the Middle East, Russian aggression, Rwanda Bill, South China Sea, AI concerns and even the current state of the Conservative party.

Alicia left Oakham School in no doubt that MUN students have a high level of global awareness and care about the Global society we live in. MUN is one of the most popular activity options in the Upper School programme & allows student delegates to gain a unique understanding of present national and international issues, and further develop their ability to respond to these dynamic situations.

MUN activity is a huge showcase of the Connected Curriculum in the Upper School and our students skilfully underpin the school values through the activity.
