Middle and Upper School House News

This term has been bustling with activity as we bade farewell to our Form 7 pupils and watched Form 6 prepare to move into their Final Year Houses. The end-of-term festivities were in full swing, filled with laughter and joy during House socials and competitions. It has certainly been a memorable term for Forms 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Barrow

This term Barrow took part in numerous activities all in support of fundraising money for the charity Ambitious about Autism. Mr Denman took on the 220 mile bike ride from Manchester to London in one day whilst the boys completed a range of activities to raise money for a worthy cause. From finishing an impressive 22 holes of golf, to a day full of car washing and a 22km run around Rutland Water, just over £1,000 was raised.

Hambleton

Hambleton girls made the most of the sunny mornings with a spirited rounders tournament against Gunthorpe House. They were also treated to performances by the talented Simi and Sophie in the Big Band Concert.

Chapmans

Chapmans hosted a leavers get together for all the Form 6 boys bidding farewell to the House this summer. The evening was filled with cricket, a BBQ, and marshmallow toasting, creating the perfect end to a fantastic year. Taking advantage of the warm weather, they also joined forces with other Houses for a fun-filled Sunday on a slip and slide!

Haywoods

In preparation for the summer holidays, the Haywoods boys honed their dance moves and enjoyed a Saturday night BBQ, soaking up the sunshine to celebrate the end of the year.

Stevens

Stevens girls had a fantastic term filled with camping and garden parties. The Form 3 girls enjoyed their end-of-year camp, complete with sunshine, cycling, and plenty of time for friendly catch-ups. To celebrate the end of exams, Form 3 and 4 came together for a pink and white themed party featuring delicious food and fun garden games.

Wharflands

From snapping pictures with David Walliams and sliding down the slip and slide in the sun, to enjoying pizza while watching football, the Wharflands boys had a fantastic end to the Summer Term.

Rushebrookes

Such great team spirit the girls from Rushebrookes had throughout all their inter-house competitions this term. For both tennis and cricket they did a great job representing their House. They finished off the term with a bang, a trip to the Aqua Park and a meal out for all the Form 6 girls who will be moving on from Rushebrookes House this Summer.

Buchanans

The Form 6 girls enjoyed a wonderful evening celebrating their time in Buchanans House with a special leavers’ meal. Meanwhile, other forms had fun with friendly socials like Fajita Friday, cake baking, and crepe making.

Round House and School House

To cap off their time at Oakham School, the Form 7 students celebrated with a memorable Leavers’ Ball and Speech Day. The festivities included family picnics, fruity mocktails, and an impressive drone show, making for a perfect start to the summer holidays. We wish our leavers the very best of luck in their future adventures.
