A Fantastic U11 Hockey Tournament

Eight schools gathered at Oakham School to play in an U11 friendly hockey tournament on Wednesday 25th September.

Being a Core Sport at Oakham, hockey development is enjoyed from U11 through all teams up to the 1st XI.

The Oakham u11’s were joined by Grantham Prep (1 &2), Stoneygate, Bilton Grange, Laxton (1 & 2), Copthill, Witham Hall and Brooke Priory.

Playing in 5 fifteen minute matches across the afternoon, nearly 100 pupils were going for the gold. There were lots of smiles from players and supporters who enjoyed tea, coffee, cakes and music as they cheered their sides on.

Players from all Schools were seen enjoying the music as they danced in between games.

After the final, Oakham School’s Director of Sport, Steve May, presented all of the players with medals before crowning Witham Hall the winners.
