Members of Form 7 travelled to the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) in London on 30 November 2024 for the Medical Doorway Open Day. Medical Doorway facilitates applications to some of the most prestigious medical, dental and veterinary schools in Europe – for example, the First faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague was founded in 1348. The meeting was a ‘fair’ format giving pupils the opportunity to question representatives from many institutions ancient and new, including UK universities which run courses abroad or specialise in provision for overseas applications.
The event was overseen by Medical Doorway’s Managing Director Ben Ambrose and this was the first Medical Doorway Open Day we had officially visited on a school trip. After the meeting, the seventh formers attending enjoyed lunch in Chinatown with buddle tea to follow!
