The end of term Dance Showcase – ‘Let’s Dance’ – was a hit with audiences and the highlight in the QET for the final week of the Summer Term 2024.
All the dancers involved worked exceptionally hard during rehearsals and their love for dance was evident when seeing them perform. Students of all ages took to the stage to share their talent and passion with an enthusiastic audience.
The performance showcased the students’ extensive range of skills. All 32 dancers came together for a Grand Finale which consisted of duets and solos – to a mash-up of songs – which were choreographed by the dancers themselves. The audience was cheering the students on, and the variety of song choices was enjoyed by all. Throughout the show, there was an array of dance styles on display including: a tap number to “I Wanna Be Like You”, a classical ballet duet to the hit song, “What Was I Made For”, an energetic Musical Theatre number to, “The Nicest Kids in Town” and many, many more.
The audience were on their feet at the end of what had proved to be a joyful and uplifting night in the QET.
Oakham School pupils can now study Dance GCSE to develop their knowledge, understanding and practical experience of the wide range of dance choreographed and performed today.
