A fantastic Art exhibition featuring work by Form 3 pupils completed over the course of the year is now on display at the Wheelhouse gallery.
Art Technician Mrs Kate Stanbridge tells us more:
“The pupils have been working on a variety of projects using a range of different materials including print, text, paint and working in 3D. The crazy fluoro sculptures are from a project that is run for third formers every year, exploring architecture, 3 dimensions, shape and colour. The planks, books, flags and clay pieces were from a Form 3 project day in the Autumn term, when the pupils spent longer working in the studios. They experimented with the idea of making art using sustainable materials (flag material was gifted from a fabric company, planks were old pallets, books were free from a charity shop as they were stock they were unable to sell). The beautiful fabric pieces were also from the Form 3 project day where the students learned about fashion sketching. The pupils have been creative and inspired by the different art processes and the quality of their work is excellent. Many pupils have chosen to continue to study Art at GCSE, which shows just how much they are enjoying the subject.”
