The 2nd of November saw the celebration of the Day of the Dead (El Día de Los Muertos) in Mexico and this week Form 3 learned about and helped mark the occasion.
Day of the Dead is a holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink and celebration.
The Spanish Department honoured the day with Form 3 sampling the Pan de Muerto (Bread of the Dead), baked by Barraclough Chef Extraordinaire Linda Thompson. The department was also decorated with a traditional ‘altar’, ‘papel picado’, ‘calaveras’ and a Day of the Dead themed photobooth for students to enjoy.
