Congratulations to Lauren (Form 7), who has been selected as one of 16 hockey players to represent Bermuda in the Central American and Caribbean Games for the second year running.
The selection process was split into three phases, and the final 16 are now increasing their fitness levels and gaining playing time leading up to the tournament.
Lauren said, “It was difficult only being able to train with the team every break I had, being one of the few overseas players. Getting the email to say I’ve been selected as one of the 16 players playing for Bermuda in the CAC games was very exciting as I could represent my country once again.”
The tournament will take place from 23 June to 8 July 2023, and Lauren will compete against teams such as Barbados, Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Director of Hockey Chris Prosser said, “I am delighted for Lauren. –It is a phenomenal achievement to be selected for an international senior team whilst still at School. Her accomplishment is well deserved after all her hard work and dedication. We look forward to cheering her on.”
