It has been an action-packed few weeks for Lower School this term, from charity bike rides to celebratory House breakfasts, the annual Prize Giving ceremony and Sports Day. It’s safe to say Forms 1 and 2 have not shied away from getting stuck in.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Leicestershire Women’s County Cricket in for a Girls cricket masterclass with our neighbouring schools, whilst Form 2 headed off to Rutland Water to test out their raft building skills.
On Saturday 8 June, nearly 200 Lower School pupils, parents and staff, along with 40 canine friends, took part in the charity walk and bike ride at Rutland Water, raising money for LOROS Hospice. It was great to see everyone come together for such a great cause!
On Saturday 20 June, Lower School had a morning of Prize Giving celebrations before it was into sports kit ready for an afternoon of Sports Day! For the Prize Giving ceremony, pupils, parents and staff came together in the iconic marquee on Doncaster Close to congratulate the award winners. This was then followed by everyone enjoying family picnics on the playing fields.
Sports Day was a roaring success, with Ancaster House taking home the trophy for the girls and Peterborough House taking home the trophy for the boys. Ancaster House celebrated their victory the following week with a delicious House breakfast.
