Music at Lunchtime: A Poignant Piano Performance

This week’s Music at Lunchtime recital was given by Form 5 pupil, Grace.

Her recital commenced with Mozart’s lively and spirited Allegro from his Sonata in F major, in which Grace’s fingers danced effortlessly across the keys, delivering this piece with precision and energy.

Her second piece, Impromptu No. 2 in B minor by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, demonstrated her thoughtful and musical approach, emphasizing the expressive qualities of the composition.

The recital concluded with Debussy’s Rêverie, in which Grace showcased her ability to create a dream-like atmosphere through her playing. The performance was marked by delicate phrasing and a nuanced interpretation of Debussy’s composition.

Congratulations to Grace for a delightful recital, and we wish her well with her Grade 8 examination later in term.

The recording from today’s concert is available online here.

Next week’s ‘Music at Lunchtime’ will be given by string players of selected solos and ensembles for orchestral strings.
