After the first concert given by Director of Music, Peter Davis, playing piano and organ, we were delighted to have our pupils back to perform.
Last week, we were treated to a wonderful performance by Evie and Will with a varied Musical Theatre themed vocal repertoire. With songs from The Phantom of the Opera, The Bridges of Madison County, Sweeney Todd and Oklahoma!, our singers portrayed feelings of love, hope and even some comedic longing and their joyous voices filled the church with memorable melodies.
This week’s recital was shared between two pianists, Tomas and Isabella, and a String Quartet formed of Elsa, Faith, Tomas and Ethan. They took us on an emotional journey through the Romantic Era, with pieces from Chopin and Schubert, as well as the more modern Lavender Field, which complemented the other pieces with its atmospheric nature.
Both recordings from the concerts are available online here.
Next week’s ‘Music at Lunchtime’ concert is a piano recital given by Form 7 pupil, Sofia.
