After a long period without live music exams, Oakham School pupils have taken over 90 individual exams over the course of the Summer Term.
Our LCM music theatre exam candidates were the first to be examined back in May, with all 20 pupils achieving distinctions in exams ranging from Grade 2 to Grade 8. Four candidates achieved stunning results, scoring 100% in their exams, and particular congratulations are due to Evie, Lucy & Matthew who achieved this feat in their Grade 8 exams.
A number of pupils have been taking new ABRSM online performance exams, which have been recorded and submitted at various times during the term, and our Grade 5 theory candidates have also taken the new online assessment. Towards the end of term, no fewer than 57 face-to-face practical grades exams (plus one Grade 8 theory exam) were taken in School, with 60% of these pupils achieving merits and distinction. Particular congratulations to Bethany, who passed her ARSM piano diploma with distinction in her final week at Oakham.
We also celebrated Eddie’s outstanding Grade 6 performance grade success from last term again when one of his recorded pieces was featured in the ABRSM’s fifth Global High Scorers’ Concert on Friday 25 June, which is still available to view here.
Many congratulations to all those who have worked so hard on their individual music over the past year.
