Two of our visiting sports fellows this year, Elizabeth Ryan from the USA and Niall Hurley from Ireland, are part of a new partnership programme with Dublin City University (DCU).
This new partnership was set up by Oakham School’s Director of Sport, Dr Iain Simpson alongside Dr Robin Taylor of DCU.
Both Niall and Elizabeth have enrolled on the Elite Performance Masters Programme at DCU and are studying whilst here at Oakham School.
This is the first year of this programme with both Niall and Elizabeth being the first participants.
It is an exciting partnership as it allows students to pursue a masters qualification whilst working in the field

Having two specialised graduates gives the Oakham School Sports Department additional wisdom to utilise in a variety of areas including training. On top of this, the Master’s students gain invaluable experience working in the field whilst studying for their qualifications.
