We are proud to share the successes of our GCSE cohort today as they receive their results and look forward to the exciting opportunities Sixth Form will bring.
Overall, almost a third of grades were 9-8 and half of grades awarded were 9-7, with pupils achieving highly across a diverse range of subjects.
Two pupils earned the remarkable achievement of 11 grade 9 awards and another 30 – an even split of 15 girls and 15 boys – achieved entirely 9-7 grades.
Dr Leo Dudin, Deputy Head Academic, commented: “We are very proud of our Form 5 (Year 11) pupils for achieving a strong set of results and as a longstanding co-educational school, it is heartening to see the equal balance in those pupils achieving entirely 9-7 grades.
“In keeping with this drive to provide an outstanding and balanced education, our Connected Curriculum will continue to support these pupils and enable them to gain knowledge and essential subject-related skills in their Sixth Form studies.”
Headmaster Henry Price added: “I would like to congratulate all the Oakhamians who have received their GCSE results today.
“As ever, there are some outstanding results, with pupils attaining the highest grades across the full range of subjects, together with those who have shown equal perseverance in attaining good grades in areas they find more challenging.
“I would like to thank all my colleagues, as well as parents, for their part in guiding and supporting these pupils. This year group have also made a huge contribution beyond the classroom, including national sporting success for both girls and boys in hockey, rugby and athletics.
I look forward to welcoming these pupils, our largest Year 12 cohort for some years, back soon, refreshed and ready to start their A-level, IB Diploma or BTEC courses. With our new Connected Curriculum now fully bedding in, it is an exciting time for them to join our Upper School.”
