Oakham School’s Spanish Department is excited to announce the launch of their new Business Spanish course – Global Business Communication Spanish.
This professional enrichment opportunity is offered as part of the Oakham’s Activities Programme, allowing Oakhamians who have a GCSE in Spanish to study it alongside their A-levels or IB Diploma.
The course aims to practically address employer concerns over language skills, international business and global awareness as well as customer care skills. The qualification is designed to create independent learners who will develop skills associated with language learning such as problem solving, creativity and literacy. The pupils will also gain an understanding of the personal benefits of linguistic competence and the importance of cultural awareness.
The course will be run by Oakham’s experienced Spanish teacher Daniel Pernas, who is also the published author of Spanish teaching text books, Vitamina B1 and Vitamina C.
Head of Spanish, Mr Cameron Pauls said, “This is a wonderful complement to Upper School Spanish studies and will not only benefit all students hoping for a career in business, but also those who hope to work or study in the USA or hoping to pursue a GAP year in Spanish speaking countries.”
