Oakham’s hockey players, both past and present, have seen continued success this term.
In Boys Hockey the 1st XI finished 8th place in the Tier 1 of the North League National Cup competition, the U16 team were Tier 2 National Cup Semi-Finalists and the U14 were Tier 1 Regional Cup Semi-Finalists. The U12 were the Regional Finalists in the In2Hockey championships.
In Girls Hockey both the U13 and U12 teams were the In2Hockey Regional Finalists. The 1st XI Girls finished 5th in the Tier 1 of the North League National Cup competition which is their best ever finish.
Congratulations to Hanna (Form 5) who has been selected for the German U16 National Team and Lauren (Form 6) who has been selected for the Bermudan Senior Women’s training squad.
Evelyn B (Form 4) was selected for the initial England U16 Age assessment Group in which only the highest talented players from across England, Scotland and Wales are invited.
Immi (Form 7 and the 1st XI Captain) and Violet (Form 5) have been representing Beeston Hockey Club in the England Hockey Premier League and Georgina (Form 7) and Emily (Form 5) have been representing the Leicester Hockey Club and Beeston Hockey Club 2nd XI respectively in the England National League.
The following talented hockey players have been attending the England Performance and Academy Centres. Only players who consistently demonstrate top skills are invited to these centres and these young men and women have done just that.

Old Oakhamian Hockey News
In Old Oakhamian news, OO Matthew Ramshaw (’18) has been selected into the GB Hockey centralised programme, which means that he will be making his GB senior international debut shortly.
Alex Stadler’s OO (’18) international (Germany) hockey career continues along a steep trajectory with recent matches for the German senior team against France, South Africa and Spain.
Ben Collinson OO (’21) has been selected in the GB Elite Player Development Squad.
Maddie Pearce OO (’17) captains Loughborough University Ladies Hockey, and recently made her 100th 1st team appearance. A huge achievement.
Georgia R (Form 7) plays alongside, Katie Long, Caitlin Jeffries OO, Alice Page OO, Kitty Bridgwood OO and Ruby Styles OO for Leicester Hockey Club.
Lucas Ward OO (’17) continues to play in the England Hockey Premier League for Oxted. Kathryn Lane OO (’13) (played Senior England) is currently playing for Clifton Robinsons in the Premier League. Annie Dalton OO is playing for Wimbledon in the National League. Becca Malyon OO is playing for Loughborough in the National League. Alice Huddlestone OO is playing for Beeston in the Premier League.
