Pupils took part in the 6th annual Rotary Club of Leicester Technology Tournament, held at Leicester Grammar School.
Mr Thomas Banham, Teacher of Design and Technology tells us more:-
“Unlike previous years, the pupils were tasked with building a ‘beacon’, with varying degrees of difficulty relating to the number of flashes in given time periods, over a 4-hour competition. Alongside this, pupils were expected to create a portfolio of the design process as well as design a billboard to promote the Rotary Club.
In all three categories, the pupils performed remarkably, with the Intermediate team agonisingly missing out on the top prize by a single point.
The creativity and engineering solutions created were of exceptionally high quality, and the teams enjoyed the competitive nature of the event. It was also a great opportunity to further develop skills within STEM.”
