Oakham’s U14 girls’ hockey team is celebrating after claiming the Tier 1 County Champion title.
Despite torrential rain making for tough playing conditions they began with a 3-0 victory over Uppingham. This was followed by a draw against Loughborough High School 1-1. With Loughborough High beating Uppingham 2-1, the Oakham team won the competition on goal difference.
Director of Hockey, James Bateman said, “The girls should be incredibly proud of their efforts. They played well and had great fun despite the less favourable weather conditions.”
The team now progresses to the Regionals later on this term.
