The start of the Spring Term has seen the annual arrival of our Gap students from Australia and South Africa.
Julia, Bridget, Kian and Ethan will be spending the year assisting with all aspects of school life, in particular in the Lower School and Sports Department.
Each student has been assigned to one of our four Lower School Houses and will use their subject specialisms and interests to help the pupils in their care.
Julia from Australia said, “What has impressed me about Oakham so far is how genuinely lovely and enthusiastic people are. The kids and the staff wholeheartedly throw themselves into activities and the sense of community that is generated from that keenness is brilliant. I am so excited to continue to be part of the school life and be involved in as much as I can.”
Kian from South Africa said, “When I arrived it immediately felt like a home away from home, everyone at Oakham is like a big happy family and are always willing to go the extra mile to assist you in order to make you feel like part of this family.”
In addition to their school duties, all four students are looking forward to the chance to explore the area and travel in the UK and Europe.
