Well done to the U18A and U18B boys’ football teams who are currently top of their Independent Schools Football Association leagues.
The U18A team have beaten Bedford School 7-1, Wellingborough School 2-0, Rugby School 5-1 and Uppingham School 12-2.
Meanwhile the U18B team have also had a four game winning streak with victories over Bedford 6-2, Wellingborough 3-2, Rugby School 4-0 and Uppingham 11-1.
Director of Football Mr David Russell said, “The boys have shown resilience, determination, a fantastic team spirit and a never-say-die attitude. Well done to them and to their coaches for their commitment, dedication and expertise. Senior football is thriving at Oakham and we look forward to continuing our successful runs into the climax of the season.”
The School runs 6 teams from 1st XI to U15 level and play regular inter-school fixtures. The first, second and third XIs also opened their seasons with the now traditional fixtures against three teams of Old Oakhamians for the ‘Ed Farmer’ trophy.
