U16 Girls’ Hockey Team in Tier 1 Cup Quarter-Finals

Oakham School’s U16 Girls’ Hockey Team have once again demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, securing a place in the Quarter-Final of the Tier 1 Cup Competition for the second consecutive year.

Facing a strong Grammar School at Leeds side, the team overcame an early setback after conceding in the first half, showing resilience and teamwork to fight back and claim an impressive 4-1 victory. Goals from Federica, Libby, and Polly –who netted twice – secured their spot in the final eight of this prestigious schools’ competition.

The squad now hopes to emulate the success of last year’s team, who reached the finals at Lee Valley Hockey Centre, the home of England Hockey. With their unwavering team spirit and determination, the girls are eager to continue their journey towards national success.

In another repeat of last year’s competition, they will play Surbiton High School on Wednesday 26th February to book their spot in the finals.
